Selling in cases, packs and pallets means the shop has to say no to a customer asking for three of something that ships in sixes. The free plugin holds a minimum, maximum and step on each product. For twelve products that is fine. For a catalogue it is a week of data entry that goes stale the moment you add a range.

Min Max Order Rules Pro replaces the data entry with rules. “Everything in Clearance is sold in sixes, wholesale accounts take at least ten of anything, and these two lines are exempt” is three rules, and it keeps being true as the catalogue grows.

What Pro adds

  • Rules instead of products — Set quantities for a whole category and its children, a hand-picked list, or the entire store, with exclusions for the products that are genuinely different.
  • Different rules per role — Wholesale buys in tens while retail buys in ones, from the same catalogue and without duplicating a single product.
  • Ordered and predictable — Rules are read top to bottom and the first match wins — the same model as the pricing plugins, so there is only one thing to learn.
  • A value you typed still wins — Anything set on the product itself beats every rule, because somebody chose it deliberately for that product.
  • Limits on the whole order — Minimum and maximum order values and item counts per role, plus quantity limits across a category — “at least twelve from Clothing” without stopping somebody buying a single mug.
  • The shop page behaves — Archive buttons ask for a quantity your rules will accept, so a customer never clicks Add to cart and gets an error for their trouble.
  • Scheduled — Start and end dates, for the clearance line that only ships in sixes until the end of the month.

Upgrading from free

Install and activate Pro and the free plugin is deactivated automatically. Both versions read the same data, so every setting and everything you have already created carries over untouched. There is no import step and nothing to reconfigure.

What happens without a license

Pro degrades to the free feature set rather than switching off. Your store keeps working, your Pro configuration is kept safe rather than deleted, and everything starts applying again the moment a key is activated. Losing a license should never cost you a sale.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if a product already has its own minimum?

It wins. Rules fill in what a product does not specify rather than overruling what it does, so a rule that only sets a step of six leaves a product’s own minimum of twelve exactly as you typed it.

Does a category rule reach products in sub-categories?

Yes. A rule on Clothing reaches everything filed under Clothing → Shirts, which is what people mean when they say “everything in Clothing”.

What happens to my rules if the license lapses?

They stop applying and they are kept, not deleted. The plugin falls back to the free behaviour — per-product limits and the storewide minimum — and every rule starts working again the moment a key is activated.
